Managing Partner, Mark Strouse, MAI, co-founded Focus Valuation Advisors in 2009 for the purpose of providing superior appraisal management and review services to the banking industry. Mark’s commercial appraisal experience spans over 25 years and includes a broad range of property types, predominantly in the Southeastern U.S. Prior to forming Focus, he established the Appraisal Management and Review division of CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (CBRE), serving as its Director for four years. Mark began his appraisal career as a Senior Associate with Joseph J. Blake & Associates (Miami) from 1989 to 1992, followed by thirteen years with CBRE (Orlando) as a Senior Valuation Analyst. Mark graduated from The Florida State University and is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute having earned the MAI designation. Managing Partner and co-founder Thomas Glitto, MAI has over 25 years of commercial real estate appraisal and review experience throughout the United States. Originally from the Chicago area, Tom was a commercial real estate appraiser handling assignments predominately in metro Chicago and the Midwest as a Senior Associate with Joseph J. Blake & Associates from 1986 to 1993. After relocating to Florida in 1993, Tom spent 10 years as an independent fee appraiser and later as a senior appraiser with CB Richard Ellis, Inc., completing a wide variety of assignments throughout Florida and the Southeast. From 2005 until 2009, Tom was employed as Vice President of W.H. Benson & Company, a regional appraisal firm based in Melbourne, Florida. Tom has provided Expert Witness testimony in the Brevard County and Lake County, Florida Circuit Courts. Senior Director Sam Hines, MAI, AI-GRS, SGA joined FOCUS in 2009, bringing with him over forty years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. His extensive experience includes Managing Director of Litigation Support Practice for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (CBRE), and Senior Managing Director of Valuation and Advisory Services for CBRE. He also served as the Senior V.P. of Real Estate Acquisitions for Club Holdings, LLC a resort oriented private real estate investment fund from 2004-2010. In 1991, Sam co-founded the Society of Golf Appraisers (SGA) and served as its National President from 1994-1995. Sam has served as a Qualified Expert Witness for the US Department of Justice (NY), Federal Bankruptcy Courts (NY, MO, FL, CA), County, District, Civil and Appellate Courts (FL, IL). He is also a former Special Master with the Valuation Adjustment Board for Seminole and Orange Counties, FL. In addition to his extensive real estate appraisal background, Sam’s experience includes mortgage brokerage and real estate development.
